How to Cut Bottles for Crafts

Photo credit David Guilfoose at http://www.greenwinebottles.com
I've seen lots of lovely terrariums made in bottles which have had the necks cut out in stylish ways.  How hard is this to do at home?  I've found a set of instructions at Natural Home and Garden by Dani Hurst that doesn't look too difficult.  Has anyone tried this before?  Can you share any tips or warnings?

  1. It's pretty easy to cut them. The hard part is how to sand the edge after it's apart. I've never found an easy way to do it. I'd like to know how they cut the bottles in the picture above.

  2. I bet the ones pictured above were done with a machine or something! The edges look too nice to have been sanded.

At sunrise, the many fires electrify, ethers, and subtler energies that emanate from the sun, extend to the earth and produce a flood effect on those coordinates, where the sun is said to rise. This effect is imposing.

The flood vitalizes and purifies everything in its path, destroying all that is impure.
This torrent of life-sustaining energies causes all living beings to rejoice.

This music can be heard at dawn. The morning Agnihotra Mantra is the essence of that music. It is the quintessential sound of that flood.
    At sunset, that flood recedes.
