WONDERARIUM is a public art proposal to enchant and reinvigorate our romance with nature at the heart of Oakland's urban jewel: Lake Merritt.
Sarah Filley + Yvette Molina began their collaborationon Wonderarium in 2009. The artists met through Johansson Projects, an Uptown Oakland Gallery that Filley helped launch as Acting Director and where Molina is currently represented. With Molina’s knowledge of plants and Filley’s sculpture and installation practice, the collaboration was an organic one expanding on a mutual respect for one another’s craft and pride in Oakland. It's very pretty, but I am still confused why a succulents need to be in a terrarium?
