The California Academy of the Sciences in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco.
The building is truly green- it is built underground and a grassy rolling knoll comprises it's roof! There is a naturalist center, an aquarium, a swamp complete with albino crocodile and a 4-story rainforest conservatory! This will definitely be a top destination for me next time I'm up north.
