Another snapshot from Aliso Loop Trail in Los Padres. There were so many happy spiders on that trail- with large lovely web-mansions spanning multiple plants. I have some spider photos that I am waiting to post... they kind of give me the creeps.
Ever since I was little photos of spiders have always seemed to bother me more than real spiders. We had a photo book of "baby animals" that I loved perusing when I was little but I memorized the page numbers of the 2-page spread of a mama tarantula with her litter of baby spiders on her back and would always skip those pages. I didn't even like touching the pages in the book and I would use a pencil to turn the page. This from the girl that tried to keep a wolf spider as a pet in her room and is the roomie that all other roomies come to for help when they need spider elimination in the house. I know- I don't get it either.
